Finalist in the Portia Geach
Tuesday, 5 October 2010
I am excited to announce that I am a finalist in this year's Portia Geach at the National Trust's SH Ervin Gallery in Sydney (24 September – 7 November 2010). The painting I entered, Portrait of the Artist in Character, was painted earlier in the year as a response to my experience performing in the NASTS play Our Countries Good. The painting is both a self portrait and a portrait of myself in character and aims to capture elements of both individuals within the same image.
Recognised as one of the most important celebrations of the talent and creativity of Australian female painters, it is a great honour to be part of this year's Portia Geach Memorial Award.
